Getting to Know Each Other

We spend the first few days of class making name tags that we decorate with 3 symbols that represent our various interests. We also participate in an ice breaker. Then we take 3 personality tests to reveal other aspects of who we are. We take the Myers-Briggs Test, the 5 Love Languages Test, and the Character Strengths Test.

Please share your personality tests results here.

See my example below. The purpose is for us to get to know each other, as well as to gain understanding that will enable us to best synergize our skills, gifts, and talents as we work together.

Shelia S., period 1

• I am an INFP. This means I'm an introvert and that I'm mostly energized by being introspective and reflective. I need a lot of down time. I'm also intuitive! I make decisions based on what I value. I also love being spontaneous, and I don't like to plan things too far in advance.

• My top 2 Love Languages are Words of Affirmation and Physical Affection. I score 0 on Acts of Service. :-)

• My character strengths are as follows (I copied and pasted from my results page on viacharacter.org):

Character Strength # 1 Spirituality
You have strong and coherent beliefs about the higher purpose and meaning of the universe. You know where you fit in the larger scheme. Your beliefs shape your actions and are a source of comfort to you.

Character Strength # 2 Creativity
Thinking of new ways to do things is a crucial part of who you are. You are never content with doing something the conventional way if a better way is possible.

Character Strength # 3 Love of learning
You love learning new things, whether in a class or on your own. You have always loved school, reading, and museums-anywhere and everywhere there is an opportunity to learn.

Character Strength # 4 Bravery
You are a courageous person who does not shrink from threat, challenge, difficulty, or pain. You speak up for what is right even if there is opposition. You act on your convictions.

Character Strength # 5 Appreciation of Beauty & Excellence
You notice and appreciate beauty, excellence, and/or skilled performance in all domains of life, from nature to art to mathematics to science to everyday experience.
