Respond to the following questions. Feel free to copy and paste them into the comment section and then type directly under each question.

You must also reply to one other classmate.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part,  then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?

5. What questions do you still have?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?

Content = what you learned about food and the ethics around food, i. e.,  fast food and food production.

Process = what you learned while doing the research, creating the website, the prezi, the video, and working in a group, etc.

1. What challenges did this project pose for you?
Some of the challenges would be figuring out the total calories for school food and finding ways to save money for the schools.

2. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
What I thought was most intriguing was that school breakfast added up to be 621 calories, the regular calories for breakfast is usually around 400 calories.

3. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I'm more aware of the amount of calories in school food that the school serves. The spaghetti at school has about 200 more calories than the cheeseburger.

4. What questions do you still have?
Some questions I have are why doesn't the school have a healthy food fair on their campus. If the school wants to be healthy, why doesn't it do anything to enforce it besides changing the items inside vending machine?

5. What did this project teach you about human nature, about yourself?
All humans want to save money, so we look to find the cheap and best prices, which isn't always the best for our health.

Lim, Marisa 6

I agree with Gloria when she says that we need healthy food fairs in schools. It would really benefit kids to start eating healthy when they are young. They should be educated before they become addicted to the food and eating it becomes a habit.

I think that Gloria is correct in having school festivals/fairs available to our schools. It poses a good way to compare food prices and caloric count of food. Not only does it promote good health, it provides a great opportunity for people to make their own choices regarding their health. It's also a reminder to people to start exploring the stories behind their food.

I agree with this post because everyone has the same thoughts about how healthy a food can be. Because the food schools serve us is not very healthy, it would help the students out to give what they should be eating. To become more healthy is a better way to live life and all humans should find a easier way to make ourselves have a healthy life.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.
My role in this project was the photographer, video recorder, and video editor. I had done my part of the project and done my best on making the video for the group.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
One of the challenges was that it was my first time in editing a video. Another challenge was that my computer was very old, which made my progress very slow because the video software is crashing and freezing.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
The most moving was how our group was working together. They each help each other and I was very thankful of Elaine helping me on the script for the video. The most intriguing was the video camera that I borrowed from my uncle. It has many feature that I have yet to explore. The most unforgettable would be the fun we had doing this project. We always come up with some funny things to do for the video, such as, the saluting and ranking of our members.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
This project made me more responsible of my health because of the research that gave me some though in what we should and should not eat.

5. What questions do you still have?
My question would be should I get a new computer and a camera of my own because I have a feeling that we are going to have another project that is similar to this

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
I learned, in content, that food could be a dangerous source of money for bad people. These people who plan to earn money or use less money in food would harm others. This is unethical. Also with how they make the food to selling it is also unethical.
I learned, in process, that everyone has his or her own strength. For example, I haven’t edited a video before, but with my strength in computers, I was able to do what I can and made a great video.

Content = what you learned about food and the ethics around food, i. e., fast food and food production.

I can relate to you because I was the video editor for my group as well. I've had previous group projects that involved making videos, but this was my first time making it on my own. My own computer didn't work, so I had to use my friend's computer.

We are going to do more projects like this, but you don't need to buy a computer and camera. We can use the school's computers, and someone in your group will have a SMARTPHONE that can be used for video.

I can relate to your post because no one in my group wanted to be video editor because of how daunting the task seemed. We, however, rock paper scissored our way out and brian ended up completing the task. I hope i dont get to be video editor because it seems like such a burdernsome task.

I agree, making the infomercial was not that easy since there are not many easy to use video editing programs out there. What I did was look up a tutorial and followed the key steps. Even though the whole process took me 6 hours, I think next time around I will still gladly take on the job of producing the video.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.
My role in the project was to do the powerpoint, website and video. The task i accomplished was the powerpoint, website, and video. I contributed to the group by doing the powerpoint with the help of some group member. Also i help work on the website. And last i was an actor in the video for our project.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
The challenges for this project for me was working on the website and the video.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
The thing i found most moving was when we worked on the video. We were all enjoying ourself and laugh ever so often when we did some funny things. The most unforgettable thing was also doing the video, we all enjoyed it and it was fun for all of us.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I learned that not all fast foods are bad for us, for example subways subs are really health for us to eat at school because it give alot of nutrients and not alot of calories.

5. What questions do you still have?
Will schools ever reconsider to sell subways at our school for lunch?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
I encountered many things during this project and it has taught me that not all fast foods are unhealthy for you. I learned that working on the project together and doing the prezi, website, etc was really fun.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.
My role in the project was to look for websites and info to use in the power point. I designed the power point and made the references needed for the reference page.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
Some challenges that this project posed for me would be the lack of communication between members of the group in the beginning of the project, but after the first couple of days we got better at planning the project.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
Something I find moving would be the research our group did on healthy eating and food lunches in our school district. Even in Mark Keppel we are not given the right information on the food we eat everyday. It was very eye opening to see.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I would say I was changed in the sense that I now think more about how the food I eat may not be healthy for me.

5. What questions do you still have?
Some questions I still have would be that if we still have these problems in our own school why has it not changed and how much longer will people not care about what there kids are eatting.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
The content teaches me that even though people may be more informed with this information, most will do nothing to change it.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.

My role in the project was to research my part about processed foods. I also help to write the script for our video and took part in designing and organizing the website. I kept everybody on task from time to time. I believe my group member and I contributed equally to our project and each did a great job to aid each other. Although our group members may have slacked off a bit in the beginning, all of us finished our parts by the deadlines that we set for ourselves. Therefore, I would not do much differently except for maybe checking that we did the citation correct.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?

The challenges that I encountered with this project was to learn how to make a website. Using weebly at first was very frustrating because I did not understand how it functioned. Later as I learned how to use the website, I found to be an easy and valuable program.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?

The most unforgettable thing about this project was when our group finally agreed on a name for our think tank. After we made our group name, CADETs, I felt that our group was more happy and willing to work because we gave everybody a role.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?

This topic has changed the way I view fast food and school lunches. Before I knew that school lunches were unhealthy, but I usually set those thoughts aside. Now I have changed because I learned more facts about why school lunches and processed foods are unhealthy. Therefore, I would like to change my eating habits and cut down on processed foods.

5. What questions do you still have?

The only question that I have is why school continues to feed us unhealthy foods when some students stated that healthy foods can come at an affordable price too.

6. What did this project teach you about human nature, about yourself?

This topic has taught me that humans tend to stick with their usual lifestyle and it takes a lot of effort to try and change their lifestyle. Although I eat healthy fruits and vegetables, sometime I can eat unhealthy foods too. I learned that I am one of those people who tend to go back to not so very good eating habits and therefore I will try to take one step at a time to improve. I also learned that if you create an enjoyable environment to work, then everybody in the group would be willing to do their parts.

Humans are truly creatures of habit. Once a person incorporates a certain way of doing things, it's extremely hard to change a way of life. So, I still eat junk food too despite knowing its harmful effects. But, I'm doing it in moderation because change takes time. One step at a time.

I agree with you Lilian once you create a habit is hard to get rid off that habit, the more you try the more it seems you get tempted by that habit.I think in order to avoid that problem we need to learn the simple rule of right and wrong and avoid things that are bad so we can concentrate on making good habits.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.
I took the role to be the groups leader because it is very hard to work in a group with no organization. I contributed to the power point, the video, I helped anyone in the group that needed assistance, the mission statement was done by Bobbi and I, and I helped with the name of our group.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
To work in a group was very hard for me, I liked all the people I was working with except for one. I used to somewhat like working in groups, I don't anymore.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
I will never forget the shock that I had when I found out that there was a school menu. I thought it was a joke.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I am even more paranoid with where and how I get my food. I read labels and constantly tell my mom to not buy processed food. I am proud to say that I haven't eaten fast food in a long time, it feels good to not support fast food "restaurants."

5. What questions do you still have?
In relation to prop 37 and food labeling, why do you think it didn't pass?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?

This project taught me that human nature is so cruel. It seems as though people that work in the food production have no remorse, all they care about is the money they make. People can be so selfish and not care for others. I learned that working in a group is very challenging when trying to communicate with one another.

Kristin Wong, Per.1
11/8/2012 08:25:26 am

I totally agree with your answer to number 6. I put a similar answer to yours. It is really sad how companies just want to make money rather than wanting to make healthy, good quality food. I wish there was some way to make healthier foods more accessible than fast foods because sadly we don't have the money to pay for it.

Jodi A., Period 1

I have previously thought about the people in food production and what they are thinking also. I hate that they seem so caught up in making more money that they don't even care about the harm they are causing consumers, their own workers, and animals. I agree that these people are selfish with no remorse. It is good that you are not supporting them anymore by staying away from fast foods and processed goods.

Vivian H., Period 2

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.

In the project, I was mainly involved in coming with ideas for the video and the group. Some of the ideas that I've contributed to the project is the video concept/idea and the project name. In the video, I worked alongside Jackie Tri to write the script. The script was crucial for the introduction of the video. Also, the idea of having a comedic approach to our viewers on our commercial is important. In doing so, I suggested the actors and music to gain the attention of our viewers. Jennifer Pei and I worked together in editing the video. Along with that, I'm also the secretary of the group. In order for us to meet, I was mainly involved in informing group members of meeting dates. I also took notes during the class run-throughs to make sure that our group was aware of the requirements needed to present in class. I also worked with Jennifer Pei in making small reforms and suggesting changes to the Prezi presentation and website. Now that the Prezi has information that is cited, people who visit our website will be highly informed on our project and it's issues.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?

The challenges that this project posed for me was finding the time for everybody in the group to meet. Some members of our group got sick/missed school and some members had extracurricular activities. Another challenge that I had was keeping the group focused. When the group meets up, we get easily distracted.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?

I find the harmony of our group the most moving. Although we had many difficulties with schedules, we were still able to get things done. When members of our group suggested changes/ideas, many of us were open and eager to comply. We really learned to mesh well as a group.
I find the video-making process the most intriguing. I've never had video projects before. Idea pitching for the video was quite fun. Also, working with Jackie and Jennifer for the video was the most intriguing for me because we had great laughs together. The acting and bloopers made while filming was extremely funny. Laughing at the audio while editing with Jennifer was also really memorable. I was intrigued by how much I learned and laughed while video-making. I was also intrigued by how much was accomplished.
I find our late-night/weekend meetings the most unforgettable. During these meetings, we got closer as a group, which contributed to how we worked as a group. We would work while watching movies/shows, eating snacks, and having tons of fun.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
As a result of my encounter with this topic, my view on school lunches have changed. I learned that there is more to blaming schools for having bad school lunches. Some school districts can only afford their current meal plans given the economy and budget cuts. I've learned to gain some tolerance with school food. Although schools may try their best to provide food to students, I still retain my hopes for having healthier, tastier, and cheaper alternatives.

5. What questions do you still have?
Is there any chance that we can implement our group research in our local schools?
No matter how many times we stress health and nutrition, will anyone take action and make some changes?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
The content of this project such as fast food and food production taught me that some people do things for their own benefit. For example, the top fast food companies control 80% of the food market. They have the business mindset and make decisions based on the benefits they can get. I also learned that some people in the food market make decisions/conduct business based on the health and safety of their consumers.
I learned that there are many things to making a video. I learned a little of everything; scripting, editing, and filming. I also learned how to cite things properly in a powerpoint/Prezi presentation. I also learned how to create a correct works cited page. In creating the website, I learned how to create buttons for quick links and embedding the Prezi.

We did have fun with this project and we learned about the school lunches and the cost. 1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.

For the project, I was mainly in charge of creating and designing the website and compiling all the aspects of the project onto the website. I also contributed a little to the making of the video by making an appearance in it.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?

My main challenge was tailoring the website to fit our projected image of professionality while keeping a personal touch to the whole image. There are so many choices, and I still can't seem to find a theme that truly fits our proposed reputation. Our current theme is professional but rather plain, so it actually doesn't seem to suit us. But, I think we're going to have to settle.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?

I thought tailoring the website was pretty cool, especially without the hassle of making up everything from scratch like in Graphic Design and Digital Media. Creating a website is cool, but doing everything from scratch is a pain.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?

I don't feel momentally changed, but I do feel a little more confident in my ability to create something that people approve of. Like our nice little website.

5. What questions do you still have?

Do you think, if you found a proposition good enough, you'll ever try to implement the proposition on our or maybe even our district?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?

More often than not, humans are unwilling to seek change despite the unsatisfying status quo until they are pushed into a corner that have sharp edges.

Elaine T., Per. 2
11/9/2012 09:22:15 am

I also thought that learning how to design and tailor the website was a cool experience too. I also agree that humans are unlikely to seek change, especially to their lifestyle, even though they may be unsatisfied. Rather than complain about their unsatisfactory lifestyle, people should try to put more effort into changing their lifestyle to make themselves happy.

Jessica Lai, p. 6
11/12/2012 10:28:16 am

I also had the same problem as you. It was difficult to maintain a professional image while attempting to make the website look captivating and exciting. Even though I found the options quite limited, creating the website was--as you said--pretty cool.

Lim,Marisa

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group.
I helped my group design the website. I helped with the wording on some of the pages. I also helped look for pictures to decorate our website.

2. What challenges did this project poses for you?
This project challenged me in a way that I had to think from a viewpoint of a researcher and figure out how I would be able to help people rather than request tasks from other people.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
The most moving thing about this project was the fact that we can change the way we eat if we just take the time to do our research and learn what to eat and what not to eat. The most intriguing was the fact that the numbers for obesity and unhealthy food in general is going up. The most unforgettable is learning the extent of how unhealthy fast food is.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I will definitely eat healthier, and eat less fast food in the future.

5. What questions do you still have?
I'm still curious about how fast food places could make their food even healthier but still taste relatively the same. How do you make a Prezi?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
It taught me that human nature needs to be taught otherwise they just do whatever you tell them to do. It taught me that humans fall for things easily. It taught me that I could be more self controlling on what I eat.

Kaylin T., Period 6
11/10/2012 03:22:55 pm

1. In the project, my role was to help design the webpage, write in the statistics for elementary, middle, and high school, add the pictures, reference, and my part of about us. I added the pictures for all the sections except the home page picture, I wrote the statistics for the future health tabs, I wrote in the reference, and helped out on most of the webpage.
2. The challenge was that I don't know much about web designing, so I could only help a little on the webpage designing.
3. I found out that assigning each person a part to do is very important because the group was just working all over the place.
4. After encountering with this topic, I feel that our school really need healthier food for the students, because the lunch we have is very fattening and unhealthy.
5. Will I get an A ?
6. This project taught me that not all food are good for your body, especially not the ones we eat at school. The ethics around food is very low, you can tell the school did not care very much about what we eat, almost all the food we get are canned or reheated. While doing the research, I noticed the Americans are getting bigger and bigger, wider and wider because of the junk food they eat everyday.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.
My role in the project was video editing, website assistant, and Prezi assistant. I helped in all of the main roles such as editing the video, help designing/writing in the website, and help with researching and condensing information in Prezi.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
One challenge in this project would be time limits. It was hard for us to meet up as a whole group when everyone was so busy.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
The most unforgettable thing I found was the calories in the school lunch menu. I realize that school food is unhealthier than I thought and that there are actually healthier alternatives to what the school can provide for us.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
Through my encounter with this topic, I feel more motivated to eat healthier. I want to stop eating school lunch everyday and start making my own lunch.

5. What questions do you still have?
My questions is: When will the school lunch program offer healthier meals to the students?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
Processed food is unhealthy, and yet schools serve the students processed food everyday. The cafeteria staff doesn’t cook anything; they just heat up the food and serve. As long as they can feed thousands of students at cheap price, they don’t care what they put into our mouths. Through the process, I learned that eating healthy is not a choice, but a lifestyle.

My role in this project was to put together and edit the video. I also helped do the autobiographies on the website. The video was a brief summary of the overall project. It provided our audience with a visual demonstration of the healthy alternatives there are to the unhealthy school lunches served to students every day.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
I believe the most challenging part of this project was converting all the different files and audio to the right format. The program I was using to put the whole video together would not let me open certain file types, such as the audio clips for the voice over. I had to get a friend to help me download a program to convert the files to the right format, which took a long time.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
I am most moved by the fact that there actually are parent advocacy groups out there fighting school districts to change their school lunch menus in order to provide their children with a healthier life. They devote their time to push for change by researching for healthier alternatives that will establish better eating habits for their kids.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
After encountering this project, I am more aware of the foods I consume everyday. Instead of buying the school lunches, I began bringing my own healthier lunches. I am also more concerned with the health of other students that buy school lunch everyday.

5. What questions do you still have?
Are there any parent advocacy groups that are trying to make a change in the foods served in the Alhambra School District schools?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
This project made me more aware of the foods that I eat everyday. I need to be careful of what I consume, because sometimes I do not realize how much unhealthy things I eat. I especially did not expect school lunches to be as unhealthy as they are. After this project, I am more concerned about not only my health, but the health of everybody around me. I want to push for change in the foods served to my school and other schools. I have even researched alternatives that schools can serve instead of processed foods and pizza.

After this project I also began to notice how unhealthy regular school lunches are. There were many projects that talked about the nutritional guidelines that all schools were supposed to abide by and i couldn't help but think that Keppel was exempt to these special rules. I think our school lunch programs do need a change, and fast.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.
My role in the project was to help with the design and content of the website as well as creating an idea for the video. I worked with Vivian to come up with the video's script as well as pitching certain music for certain parts of the video. What I accomplished in this project would most likely be the video idea and some of the website's content and design. Later on, I was also given the added job of providing a location for our group to meet up and to ensure that each person's jobs were being done. The one thing I probably would've like to have done differently would be to not get sick in the middle of the project. I ended up having to do a lot of the communication through phones and computer in order to make sure everything was still going smoothly.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
The greatest challenge to me would be the time management issue. At least half the member in my group wither have a job, extra curricular things, or a seventh period ( I was one of them). We had some issues regarding the times when we could meet. Another challenge was finding and condensing all the information in a way that won't bore our audience.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
For me, the most unforgettable thing would be the nutritional value of our school food. When our group looked up the calorie count on the foods, we were all really shocked.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I personally will make an honest attempt to try to eat better, whether its to choose the foods at school with the least amount of calories and eating the fruit that they make us take, or packing my own healthier and better tasting food.

5. What questions do you still have?
The school district promotes and states that they are offering us the healthiest meals with the budget that they have, but did they really look beyond and try to find other alternatives that require more than just the thaw and serve technique?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
The content of this project really showed me a side of humans that I didn't really want to believe existed, such as how the corporations are only in it for the profits. Throughout not only this project, but the unit, I saw how twisted and corrupt humans in successful industries have become.
The process of finishing this project really allowed me to appreciate technology. Because I was sick through half the project and missed several days of school, I was honestly glad that this project allowed me to work on it with my group members while I was sick in bed. I could edit the website at home while they worked on something else. I also earned how to kind of work a Prezi and how hard it is to find the right music for the video.

I failed to participate in the video, because I had afterschool classes. Next time, hopefully I can plan the date earlier.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
The biggest challenge was technical difficulties with editing and making changes in the website. Many websites have redundant information but not much details.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
I've always thought our school lunch tasted disgusting because it needed to meet government's healthy requirements. In reality, the school lunch is both fattening and unsavory.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
Knowing that every school lunch is 750 calories, I learned refrain from eating them regardless of how hungry I am at lunch. I will wait and go home to eat.

5. What questions do you still have?
For the unsatisfied parents, if you care about your child's health, why can't you make their school lunches yourself?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
This project teaches us that Americans always want improvement and changes but aren't willing to pay the cost. They also take free/reduced lunch for granted.

I also found that editing and making changes to the website was very difficult. It was my first time using weebly, so it took a little while to get used to. I also found the high caloric content of our school lunches very outrageous, and will join you in not consuming them until we make changes.

1. What was your role in the project?
My main role in the project was to fix anything that needed improvement within the website. I performed tasks such as editing a video and setting up all the suitable graphics in the website. I helped with anything tasks that were left undone or unfinished by another member in the team.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
There were many challenges that we as a team confronted went working on our project. One significant challenge was figuring out how to edit and input a video in the website. Without the effort of every other person in my team, I don't think it would have been possible to overcome some of this challenges at a fast pace.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
The thing that I found most moving when working on this project, was the amount of health struggles that existed amongst the children of America. The most intriguing regarding my research on the project, was the amount of negative statistics that were about young Americans. One unforgettable finding, would be when I learned about what our schools really use to make our lunches.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
This topic of finding alternatives to healthy eating made me realize that there is still hope in changing the course of health for many Americans. The members in my team help change my perspective how much it takes to make progress within a group of people with different talents.

5. What questions do you still have?
One question that I still have to this day, is why some Americans can't change their eating habits. It may be tough to do so, but in the end the result will be worth the accomplishment

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
We as humans need to cooperate with other people in order to fulfill our own potential goals in life. Innovation is all around us, for this reason it only takes one person to realize that one significant idea can make a significant change in this world.

Although, I did not personally work on the video, I do agree that all the group members need to contribute in order to make a fantastic project in that limited amount of time. I have also wondered why some people still eat unhealthy foods all the time even though, they know that it is bad for them. But I have realized that sometimes eating unhealthy foods like milk chocolate or french fries is addicting. There are times where out of blue you just want some; and when you have the money to buy it, then you buy it. Because it tastes so good and once in a while is not that bad, right? Well, yeah, it's just addicting.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.

My role in the project was to assign my team members jobs to do for the project, make sure that they are doing it, that we are on task and schedule, and do the prezi. I wished that I would have gotten my team members to do their work a week or a week and a half before the project was due so that I could work on the prezi and they could do the video. It is because they needed to write their researching information on weebly so that we could develop the video ideas and the prezi stuff. I also realized that I shouldn't had focused all of my attention to the website and neglect my prezi. I should have done it simultaneously.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?

The challenges were the website, the prezi, and the research. The website was new to me so I couldn't navigate it well at first and figure out how to use the website to the best of it's ability. In addition, I also did not know how to make the website have what I wanted in a specific manner, like spacing. The prezi was also new to me, as I had never used it before. I had asked someone to teach me how to set up the powerpoint but the format changed from when they used it so they couldn't really help. The research was confusing as they had a lot of information but the team members were a bit confused of what I wanted from them. However, that was my fault for not being more clear.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?

The most moving, intriguing, unforgettable part about this project was the development of the website. We, the team, had so many ideas, questions, complaints at the website and towards each other. Working together especially on something that we couldn't access at the same time was hard. But it was fun and I learned what some people are best at and what others are best at too. I think all of my team members never tried Weebly before so it was a new experience for everybody.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?

I was changed as a person from this topic because it made me more aware of the things that I eat. I usually eat everything I wanted to eat but now, I know that I should have a balanced diet throughout the day. I go out of my way to grab a fresh fruit, vegetables, and a smaller potion of the main meal during lunch because the topic was about school lunch.

5. What questions do you still have?

I wonder if it is possible for the students in the schools to corrrectly identify why they don't like the lunch or the new healthy lunch. In addition, I also want to know if it works to teach kids about healthy eating using comics, classes, and other mediums.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?

This project taught me that most people are naturally lazy when the job is simple to them and when they are only doing the project by themselves. I also learned that you have to trick people in order to make them do what is really better for them. You cannot just inform them or provide examples because tricking them is the easiest, fastest method into achieving what you want. I learned that I am a natually lazy person when I am by myself doing a project but when I am in a group, I work more because I feel that I can take the project on one step at a time and everybody can ban together if we are behind on a project.

In the project I played a role in creating our mission statement. I also helped in researching and creating the powerpoint and citing the sources. I also participating in forming the video.
2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
It was a challenge to find sources and think about what I wanted to do with the project. It was also a challenge to get the citations done and get everything working together.
3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
I found creating our own website most intriguing. I also found that it was most unforgettable to merge different sources together to pitch an idea as if we were an actual company. I also enjoyed cooperating with a team to reach a common goal.
4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
Through this topic, I learned to be more confident in my speaking skills. I also learned to be more aware of the foods I am eating.
5. What questions do you still have?
I still wonder if schools will have healthier options in the future. I also wonder how the food corporations will change their habits of feeding the public unhealthy foods.
6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
This project taught me that it is hard to get everyone working and that you may have to do more on your end. However, it also taught me the importance of teamwork and dedication. It taught me the importance of reviewing and improving. I also learned the importance of deadlines and how it is important for the whole team to come up with your end.

For this project, I was in charge of designing and creating the Prezi. Because we had to come up with a powerpoint, I chose to use Prezi because it is a much more enriching and fun program to display the project.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
Our biggest challenge was meeting up as a group. Because many members of the group have extracurricular activities and other jobs to tend to, our schedules clashed and we found it hard to come to an agreeable date to work outside of class.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
When we actually did meet up, I had a fun time getting to know my group members outside of the classroom. Not only did this project help us learn as a group, but it also taught us the importance of team work. We were able to work together as a team and create a nice, organized project. I truly enjoyed this experience.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
This project got me to realize that hard work really does pay off. Before, I really didn't expect much from the project. Because I didn't expect much, I didn't put too much effort into the making of it, but because of the upcoming deadline, I realized that work had to be done. This project has made me a more professional and organized person.

5. What questions do you still have?
I curently do not have any questions because google pretty much holds all answers.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
This project taught me that people are naturally greedy and hungry for money. Although this may sound very negative and anti-human, it holds true for some of today's biggest food companies. There is reasoning behind everything, and if anything needs to be concealed or hidden, it must be bad. School districts do not openly expose the calorie counts of their products, leaving both students and parents unaware of the dangerous foods around them. This is unethical and malicious on the district's part. The growing obesity epidemic is the result of the food companies' evil tactics to lure more customers in, targeting ignorant children. How would you know if your food is unhealthy if you don't even know what it is? Food companies are so secretive and hungry for money that they are willing to risk the lives of many for their own benefits.

My role in the project was creating the website. I worked on finding pictures, setting up the look of the site and organizing where everything belonged. I time to work with everyone individually on the website, so we were able to give ideas and make changes. If I didn't have the time to work with each member, there would have been small changes that I would have done differently. Which would be changing the theme of it, so it would have more of a professional look and I would have added more pictures of our school to show and example on a high school meal.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?

The challenges that I had to face for the project was creating the website, this was my second time creating a site and my first time using Weebly.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?

I liked how our group connected with each other. Since we all knew each other it was really easy for us to connect and socialize. Everyone was able to contribute on the project because no one was too shy to show what they know or give out decisions. I was amazed on how fast we finished on the project, because while working on the project in some way it felt sloppy, everyone was just working on separate thing. But every night i would check on the website and I would be surprised on the changes that they did to the site.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?

What changed about me is that I have become more aware of what I am eating. I usually eat whatever I can and not worry about how it will affect my health. I have become more aware and limit myself on what I eat.

5. What questions do you still have?

Is there any way to show all of our website to the public?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?

I learn that even if we have to choice to start living health not everyone is going to change. Same with businesses, they know that what they serve is harmful to us but they do it just for the profit. Along with this project it has helped me learn in many ways. The basic use of technology, creating a website, and I was able to learn how to edit video from Joe.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.
I did the prezi presentation, the work cited, and put the resources on the website. I contributed by doing a lot of the research that went on the power point and making sure the work cited page was correct. I also wrote the mission statement and helped make a few corrections on the website.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
We had problems finding the time for everyone to meet to work on the project. Also, it took me a long time to figure out how to edit parts of the website.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
It is really hard to find reasons why fast food should be served. There is just so much evidence against it which is really sad. It's sad because fast food companies are still huge and many people still eat it a lot. We know that it's bad for multiple reasons, but we can't seem to get rid of it or stop eating it. It's sad that it is so much easier to get unhealthy fast food than to get good healthy food.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I am definitely going to try to stay away from fast food restaurants.
I am also going to try to see both sides of situations. At the beginning of this whole fast food topic, I blamed it all on consumers because we can choose to not eat the unhealthy foods. Now, I'm kind of undecided because I realized that some people don't really have a choice.

5. What questions do you still have?
I wonder why this unhealthy food problem doesn't seem like a priority on many people's lists. It just doesn't seem like the government isn't doing all that they can to try to make foods healthier for us.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
What it showed me about myself is that sometimes I just assume things and I don't really look at the entire big picture at first.
Some of what I learned makes me think that people can be really greedy and don't really care about others because they don't know them, which I think is a terrible excuse. It seems like companies just want to make money, they don't care about the health of the consumers.

It could be the entire meal itself, or a condiment. The problem is that unhealthy food is so widespread that people really must go out of their ways to find food that is healthy for them. This project and the research we've done for it has made me really question the food I put into my body, and I feel very sad when I realize that I do not treat my body with respect. Unhealthy food is very addicting and it's also comfort food. I hope that with an increase in eating healthy foods, my body can adapt and learn to love the absence of salt and sugar.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.
With my partner Cassidy, we both did our prezi for our project. We talked about what is wrong with the current food system and what our company could do to improve it. My part was to make a list of the cons of the food system and the pros of the company food system. I would fix the fact that our prezi is a little bland, with little pictures and animations.
2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
There weren't many challenges that this project posed to us other than our procrastination. During the time we had in class, we didn't do as much as we should have, but we managed to overcome that challenge.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
The thing I found most intriguing is that the current food that is served in the United States might contain bird meat, and that there's only a minimum calorie cap for foods.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
As a person, I didn't not changed too much. Although I think the topic has changed my opinion about how school lunches are and even though I will still eat it, I now know what I'm eating.

5. What questions do you still have?
I don't have many questions. Except for what changes could happen to the food system in the near future.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
This project has thought me that power house companies will do whatever they can to get their profit, even if that means the well-being of future generations. And the process of this project has showed me that with teamwork and cooperation, things will get done.

What you said about "now knowing what I'm eating" reminds me of the food ethnic regarding fast food. After this research project, I realized we students are also victims of uninformed consumers of unhealthy good. Therefore, now I blame fast food restaurants for the obesity in America.

My role in this project was that I was part of disigning the website and helped record the video. I came up with what to write, format, and chose designs for the website.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
Our challenge was that we never got to meet as a whole group to do the project so all of us did it separately.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
What was most unforgettable was that I found out that school lunch isn't as healthy as I thought it would've been. It has a lot more calories than other foods I eat at home.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
When other groups presented, it taught me to eat healthier and showed me what foods I can eat to have a healthier life.

5.What questions do you still have?
My questions is: Why does school lunch serve us foods that we don't even know any of the nutrition facts about?

6.What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
It taught me that human nature food is healthy but because all the food are processed, it makes the foods unhealthy but yet, everyone still serves/sell/buy them. I learned that being healthy is part of life, people can't just ignore it or life won't be easy for them.

A: As a group we all put in about the same amount of work. I contributed to the website design, acted in the video, and also collected information from different sources to contribute to the presentation. My part contributed to the overall presentation of the group.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
A: This project created challenges for our group to effectively synthesize information from multiple choices. We also had to make an extra effort to meet as an entire group outside of school to make the video.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
A: I found the experiences we had as a group the most unforgettable.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
A:I am now more aware of the issues that are occurring in our nation’s school districts.

5. What questions do you still have?
A: Will the parents ever be satisfied by their school’s lunch program?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
A: This project taught me that human nature always strives for something better than what we have in the present. It has also taught me that I am unaware of many issues in today’s society.

I was one who was going to be in the video for my group. The part that I said was really prepared. I wasn't having the feelings. But, I think that I did a very good job with what I had to say for the video.
2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
I will understand about the food. Everybody will need to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables everyday. I can figure out that we will need to be on a diet.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
I was really happy with the video. The melody was very entertaining. I think that the video was cute.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I will really want the people to know that we will need to be strong. We cannot eat a lot of fast food that have a lot of oil.

5. What questions do you still have?

How can the food make the people want to eat them?
What are the choices of healthy food?

I agree that the biggest chanllenge for our group is timing. We were having a hard time to meet up and make the video. Also, when we found out that there are some problems with the video, we needed to find out a way to fix it. I think this really teaches us how to accomplish other similar problems when we are doing either individual or group project. In addition, I strongly agree with your answer to number 6, because developing a healthy eating habits in childhood is really important to everyone.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.
My role in the project was to be the editor of the website and to also gather information that would contribute to our nutrition project. I was able to manage the website from the day it was created, and as a result the website is not cluttered and is organized in a manner that other group members are easily able to look for what they need to complete their part in the project. I also researched information help to further our nutrition project and goals. Lastly, I was an actor in our video for the project.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
The challenges this project posed for me tested my ability to cope with demands from my fellow group peers and to adapt to the changing needs of the website as we went along. I also had to adjust my extracurricular schedule to accommodate for deadlines and the taping of the video.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
What I found most moving during the duration of this project was the joy we had while brainstorming ideas for the website and how we were at first unable to make ends meet, but with increased collaboration and individual goal setting, we got the job done at the end. What was most intriguing to me was how one of our group member (not naming names) would slack off and work on other assignments while the rest of us were working hard in completing the project. To me, that was slightly irritating and made me feel like that person did not want to be a part of the project. The most unforgettable moment during our time as a group was taping the video and how we would always mess up and degrade ourselves and say we were bad actors, when in fact the video came out better than expected. Overall, videotaping was fun and we thoroughly enjoyed doing it.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
As a result of my encounter with this topic of poor nutrition in school, it made me question if what our schools currently are serving to us students really fit the bill of healthy eating and promoting good eating habits. It also made me question how we have gradually strayed away from traditional, over a stovetop and into an oven, cooking to food that can be made with just a few pushes of microwave buttons. It simply is just sad and I feel society forgoes health for convenience.

5. What questions do you still have?
How can we, as students who may not be of legal voting age yet, spark reform in the national school lunch program and change our future as a result?
Who is to blame for such a mess in the program?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
This project really was an eye opener, and it exposed me to a side of reality that I had never contemplated before. Sure I knew that school lunches were horrible before I even started this project, but what I didn't know were the little things, like how fast food meat standards are better than standards for school meat. It also taught me to frown upon school lunch and instead opt for healthier alternatives, such as bringing lunch from home to eat instead of eating mystery meat at school.

I created and decorated weebly website. In addition to that, I also did the Prezi presentation and work cited bibliography.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
One of the biggest challenges was how to put all the information together to make it into a lively presentation that viewers would enjoy. There was a lot of different informations and putting them all together so that they would make sense and support one another was a headache.
Another big challenge was decorating the weebly website because I was new to the site and it took a while to figure out things.
Prezi was also a big issue because it was only my second time using prezi and I didn’t want to use powerpoint because it is so much less fun and cute.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
We spent so much class time on this project!
4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I learned more about the challenge that schools face when it comes to program and funding matters. I realize that the most important thing is not about criticizing the school but it is about working together to find the solutions to the problems.
5. What questions do you still have?
Do schools care about students’ health or are they just doing business?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
I learned about food ethics and I really love this topic. Even though I already knew some of the bad things that were going on, it was very interesting and fascinating to really learn in depth about this topic. It is sad that our society has grown to care only for big numbers and profits but not for one another. The cruelty and evil that are hidden from us by the food industry make me realize that in this modern world, there are still slavery, abuses, and domination. Even here in America, equality doesn’t withhold.
Doing this project taught me that doing a research takes time. However, if there are good preparations and knowledge, it can actually be fun and interesting. Thank to all the articles and documentary films and class time!

My role was to make the script for the video and film it. I looked for websites as references to use to provide for the website. I also took some pictures for the bio page.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
Challenges was how to make the video that will match the website topic.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
What I found most intriguing was information about how there can be many ways that schools can actually get healthier meals for the students but schools just choose to stick with the same program.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I didn't change much but I've decided on not to eat school meals much due to how unhealthy they may be.

5. What questions do you still have?
Questions I may have is why can't schools substitute some unhealthy foods with healthier items that may cost the same and why don't schools provide less oily foods when they're trying to promote healthier school meals.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
This project taught me that people don't really care about health purposes but more about money. They would rather pay less even if the quality isn't as good. People would mostly do what benefits them so they'll go with what is best for them than what's best for everyone else's benefit.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
Creating the website, I did not know how to work and create everything until my group members showed us its suppose to be done.
3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
The most unforgettable thing I have learned doing this project is how bad all this food is for you. It can cause various health problems and may cut your life short.
4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I have changed as a person because this has taught me many things I have not known that may have saved me from a lot.

In this project, I have done parts of the PowerPoint which involve the discussions on the result of eating unhealthy foods and the physical and metal benefits from healthy eating. I wrote a brief description of myself for the about us page in the website. I also fix the reference page by adding all the links with button and changing the references word document to MLA format.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
To begin with, I need to write all the references in MLA format, and I also need to post them correctly in a word document. Then, when we found out that there are some problems in our video, I had to use software to change all of the original videos into a different format, so they could be edited with movie maker.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, and most unforgettable?
The brief descriptions of each of our members are pretty interesting. If we are still writing these for our next project, I think we will make up more entertaining stories. As the most unforgettable memory, I think the video really troubles us a lot. We met for at least three times in order to finish it.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I did not change a lot as a result of being an encounter with this topic. My group is representing the parent advocacy group, which basically has the same opinions as my opinions towards this topic.

5. What questions do you still have?
I want to know why the government once trusted the fast food companies, and gave them the chances to affect the school lunches for students.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
I now know the physical and metal benefits from healthy eating. Therefore, I will begin to choose a healthy way of eating in daily life. When I finished this project, I felt that I still need to cooperate more with my group members.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.
I contributed mostly to the creation of the PowerPoint and the work sited page. Gathering, processing, and compiling the information on the power point. I also cited and put the sources on to the work cited page.
2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
This project had many challenging factors associated with collaboration and gathering information. The shear multitude of information that has to be compile is staggering and brings shivers down my spine whenever I think about the long hours of researching all of the information. The group did not take initiative to solve problems and in the end we had to drag ourselves to complete the tasks at hand.
3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
I found the facts about the nutritional content of my school lunches the most interesting because I did not think that it would’ve been that bad for me. In addition, the massive amounts of chemical additives put into the school lunches is astonishing, and really makes me think twice before I go and get school lunch.
4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I am now more aware and watchful of the chemical and nutritional content of my foods. I think I am now more resilient towards the amount of chemically processed foods that I eat.
5. What questions do you still have?
I still have questions about the reasons why my school intends on providing these destructive chemical compounds in food for children. In fact, I am pretty confused by the fact that parents are allowing this to happen to their own children. Although many parents don’t have the time to go out and research these harmful chemicals, I think it’s a universal fact that industrial chemicals are not god for the human body.
6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
It taught me to be more patient and understanding towards my group members. This project also taught me many interesting things about nutritional contents of fast food companies along with the nutritional content of our own school lunches. The content has really shed some light on not only what is in school lunches but also in all types of food products around the world. This project has also shown me that people do not always put the well-being of other people over their revenues, and many people only seek to make a quick buck out of the ignorant.

With the new regulations on school lunch, is it still unhealthy?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?

My role in the project was to edit the video. I contributed by putting together the videos my partners recorded and designing it the best way to make the others understand the mission of our group.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
I found it really difficult to edit a video, especially when adding subtitle to it because I had to find an exact timing to match the subtitle with the words spoken. Also, I had to design the video and add background music to catch the attention of the viewers.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
The members of our group put so much effort on this project. I admit that I didn’t work as much as they did so I really appreciate their hard work!

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I realized that the school district has actually been under a lot of pressure from the government, the parents and the students on the subject of providing school lunch. I learn to consider a question from different points of view. Most importantly, I learn to choose what we should eat and be thankful of what we have at the same time.

5. What questions do you still have?
Should the school provide lunch that meets the parents’ demands or the students’ wants?
Have the school tried to provide the best for the students yet?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
There is not always one perfect solution to a question because it is hard to satisfy everyone’s wants. More questions are derived from one question. All we can do is to use our limited resources wisely and try balancing the need of everyone. Sometimes we are too selfish to not realize how much the others have done for us and we just keep asking for more. We students can get lunch at school but we always complain about how bad it tastes. We never think of those who don’t even have money to buy themselves a breakfast.

My role in this project was mainly working on the website. I came up with the name of the website and the logo. I also worked on all the pages; whether it was adding a picture, including research, or editing what was on the website. Additionally, I wrote the script for the infomercial.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
The challenges I faced in this project was finding the right information to put in the website and finding relevant pictures for the website. There's a myriad of information and pictures on the internet but finding exactly what you need can be inestimably more difficult.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?

From working on this project, I learned many new things. But the most moving thing I learned was the cruel, inhumane treatment of animals being slaughtered for human consumption. I always knew such treatment existed but to actually see it in a documentary was unbelievably appalling. The most intriguing thing I found was the fact that the government subsidizes farmers to grow so much corn when to keep the prices of corn low when that money could be used for other purposes. So much corn is grown that there are corn related/based ingredients in most, if not all, food products. The most unforgettable thing was making the website. I've never made a website so this was my first time working on a website. It was a lot of work but seeing the finished website makes it seem so rewarding.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?

After my encounter with fast food, I've grown more aware of what I eat and where the food I eat comes from. I didn't turn into a vegan/vegetarian. But I'm trying to eat more healthfully and avoid fast foods because they are bad for your health and eating them condones mistreatment of animals.

5. What questions do you still have?

Some questions that still linger are why aren't more people aware of this problem and how to make healthier food cheaper than fast food. I believe additional research should be done to address these two problems.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
This project taught me that human nature is geared towards profit; hence the mistreatment of animals and low pay for workers for increased profits. Also, humans don't always eat what they should eat-they make some very unhealthy choices.

This project was challenging in the sense that we had to propose new ideas while not increasing the budget deficit. It took a lot of thinking and creativity to find solutions that would benefit our schools, but not cost additional funding.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?

I found it unforgettable how unhealthy our school lunches are today. It's almost as if the district doesn't care about what our students eat. Not only is it unhealthy, but it also doesn't taste good at all. The government should try to feed our students better.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?

It brings even more awareness to diet and nutrition. I already watch what I eat, and try to live a healthy and active lifestyle, but this will always be in the back of my mind. When we are parents, we will have more awareness about school lunches and the nutritional content of it.

5. What questions do you still have?

I still would like to know why our government doesn't try to establish healthier food options.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?

The content taught me about finding solutions to this obesity problem, and the problem starts with our schools. The process taught me that procrastination isn't the answer. However, it taught me about web design and computer skills.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.

I created and helped to perfect the website. Also I analyzed the researched and came up with a reasonable conclusion to satisfy the client.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?

This project presented us with something that I had done many times in the past, updated to the 21st century. Although I had done many research projects in the past, this was the first that made me utilize resources I had never used before.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, and most unforgettable?

The most intriguing thing about the project was the incredible amount of collaboration needed to finish this project. I would have never expected everyone to step up and work together even in the darkest hours of the night.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?

I think that this project didn’t have any effect on me even though I realized that projects of this magnitude can’t be done last minute in the future. Even though I realized that, I feel that I am still going to wait until the last minute for projects like these.

5. What questions do you still have?

None, all question were answered in the course of the project.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?

People are naturally selfish, they do whatever they can to benefit themselves even if it means hurting others.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.
My main role was in producing the video presentation. My job included writing the script and planning the entire filming process, as well as playing the mother in the video. I also contributed to the group by pitching in ideas for the website, like the moving picture banner. I think I did a fair job with my role because I did procrastinate, but in the end we got the project was completed so it is all good.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
This project was challenging mainly because there were so many steps and things to do (website designing, bios, video, powerpoint, research, etc.). Our group was not very organized in our roles at first so it was difficult to coordinate getting so much stuff done.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
The most unforgettable part of the project was actually filming the video. We were initially very worried about the video not looking good and even not getting it done on time, but we pushed aside our troubles and just decided to have fun. The night we filmed was full of laughter as we are not the best actors but we, as a group, each dedicated ourselves to completing the video at all costs.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
This topic helped me become more aware of the health problems due to unhealthy food people have in the United States. I realized that it is quickly becoming an epidemic, though currently still not a heavily emphasized issue.

5. What questions do you still have?
I am still questioning who is to blame for America's food problems and I have yet to obtain a good solution for fixing the problem.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
This project taught me that humans are naturally lazy. In the content, I discovered that a lot of health problems are due to the fact that people don't like to exercise. Exercise the the underlying step in eating healthy. In the process, I learned that we are very lazy people. We procrastinate on the project and often feel we only need to do the minimum work required.

I did part of the research that contributed to our resources page. I didn't participate in the video or meet with my group outside of school very much because I had basketball practice and Calculus group meetings that conflicted. For the next project, I will try to attend more group meetings and do more work on the projects.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
It was challenging to think of what to do for our video.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
I found our video to be unforgettable because it was funny and entertaining and I regret being absent during the filming of it.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
After researching for this project, I started looking around at our school lunches and noticing how unhealthy school lunches actually are.

5. What questions do you still have?
I wonder why kids have to be so stubborn about what they eat. I also wonder why parents don't try to involve kids more in the decisions about what foods to implement into these lunch programs.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
From studying the content of this project, I learned that we, as humans, are stubborn. Also, we have become very spoiled and lazy over the past several decades. From the process of completing this project, I learned how hard it is to schedule meetings when including 6 people and that students will almost always procrastinate.

My role was to revise the home page and make the citations for each page,I did everything but I feel like we could of done a much better with it.Next time we will spend more time with the video, because that also need to be better organize.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
The challenges that was post to us as a group was that we lack the proper way of following what we were told to be done in our website. We did our best on understanding but at the end it seem we came short with what was been ask.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
What I found most moving was the fact that some people are aware of the issue, but they are not motivated or intrigued enough to make a difference. The most Unforgettable that almost everything is made out of corn. The most intriguing we are addicted to sugar and white flour.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
Now that I have learn what I know about food I want to make the right decision and be more self consistent on what is best for my body and myself.

5. What questions do you still have?
Was there like a "proper" way of picking the name for the website that we created. What rules did we have to follow?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
This project thought me that it is hard to make the right decision by ourselves but if we team up with a friend or organization we are most likely to accomplish what is right for us.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.
My job was simply to edit the website, both grammatically and aesthetically, and add anything that i thought would make the website better. I added most of the pictures and also read over everything to make sure it made sense and advised my group members when they were missing something and how i could fix it in the best way. During the next upcoming projects, i will try to take on a harder job, especially since this one was quite facile.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
As simple as it may seem, getting every single member of my group together at a specific time and day was an extremely difficult task. Each on of my group members was busy on a certain day while others were not. Eventually, we all came to our sense and sacrificed some of our own personal time in each one of our busy lives and met up to complete the project.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
I found my group's video to be quite intriguing. We gave Angelo a basis of what needed to be said and it was his job to put everything together in his words. His speech in the video came out well and i realized what a great debator angelo truly was.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?

5. What questions do you still have?
I wonder if there are actually think tanks that focus on changing the way individuals eat in our area. If so, how come i have never heard of one are came across a website that actually shows their research. Also, why aren't parents taking a stand, especially in AUSD, to bring healthier school lunches?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
I learned that people in society are quite ignorant to what they eat and therefore refuse to seek or take any help. They have become so accustomed to eating unhealthy and simply embrace that fact. I also learned that despite all of the ignorance that surrounds us, there are indeed many individuals that focus the majority of their time to coming up with solution to this problem as well as many others.
When doing the project, i practiced my editing skills more. I know that this will be extremely useful in the future, especially when i read over my essays or any other literary works. I also learned that working together as a group is extremely crucial because it helps make the task easier and teaches a very important lesson on teamwork. Teamwork is key to success.

I agree with you when you said people have become "accustomed" to eating unhealthy. I believe that everyone has their choices, and yes, food companies may be promoting their foods, but they are a business and they have the right to. We, as consumers, have the right to look past the commercials and ads and choose to eat healthier. Everything we put into our bodies is of our consent.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.

My role in the group was to mainly research healthy alternatives that the school could afford. So on the website the page of Fighting Obesity is that page that I wrote. I researched and did that part by myself. Another role would be the About Us page, I worked on that to describe each member to the best of my abilities.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?

Some challenges, would be working with people I have not worked with before, but we have overcome those circumstances. Our busy schedules kept us from meeting, so we had to work out times when some of us could work on the website, whether it be online or in class.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?

What I found most moving was that we were able to finish the website withing the given amount of time, with only a few errors. Most intriguing would be how we some how managed to get together and do the website. Most unforgettable would be that there are many alternatives available for healthy foods.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?

I changed my eating habits. I have consumed less processed foods than I would regularly consume. I have been eating home-cooked meals more than eating at fast-food restaurants.

5. What questions do you still have?

I wonder why the fast food places still continue with their business, when they know it is unhealthy, yet they seem to ignore the fact that they are the problem not the consumers.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?

In the content, I learned that humans in general are what they eat. If they eat healthy then, they will be healthy. However, if they don't eat healthy, then they will not be healthy. In the process, I learned that take advantage of the time given to us. We think that we can procrastinate, but that is not always the best possibility.

For this project, I created the banner of our pictures on the front page, I added the maps for the locations, I found the video by Owain Street about Subway and included it under our Research, I edited our group video and uploaded it onto Youtube.
2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
The topic of the project was a challenge in general because we had to think of ways to incorporate the benefits of fast food. I would say the biggest challenge was thinking of a name to distinguish the project from our think tank as a whole and getting everyone to meet up on time.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
I found our teamwork and everybody's contribution most unforgettable, because despite some miscommunications, we were able to get everything done on time.
4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I do not usually eat fast food, but after this project, I learned that along with all the downsides of fast food, there are actually some benefits. I also discovered that Subways is considered fast food, but has many healthy elements that we can choose from. I learned that with food, it is not that we don't have a choice; we can choose what we eat but at the same time, enjoy ourselves. We should not be limited to certain foods, because even with fast food, we have options.

5. What questions do you still have?
What other fast food places serve healthy meals, and what have they done to improve their nutrition programs? How would students react to bringing Subway into schools?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
I learned that group projects need communication, mutual respect, sharing of ideas, and open-mindedness, because when you are working with others, you need to be able to agree and disagree. You need to put in your own input but at the same time, allow room for others. I learned that I do enjoy group projects because I like working with other people.

I helped put the website together. This contributed to the group because I helped organize everything so the group members know where to add the required information. I also helped with the other jobs once I had the website designed, which helped us finish faster.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
Challenges that appeared during this project where getting everyone to meet up to finish things. We had 6 members and at times we couldn't get all 6 to be there. We did resolve the issue though, because of the time given in the computer lab to work on it.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
The most unforgettable thing about this project was the group work. We enjoyed ourselves and had fun doing it. That's what made this project fun.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
As a person, I see that school lunches can be better than they are now. Schools just focus on the cheapest way of getting food out to the students and don't focus much on the health.

5. What questions do you still have?
Why haven't schools made home-grown farms dedicated only to the school food?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
I learned that businesses and corporations care more about money than other things that are more important. One thing I learned about myself was that I am able to work hard if I put my mind to it.

-My group task was to set up the website. This includes putting in the personal statement, adding the pictures, putting in the different pages, putting in the powerpoint and the video. Another task i was assigned to do was write the "about us". The about us is the page on the website that describes the position and task of each individual in the group.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?

-We had a different view of how the project should be established and we also had a confusion about how the website was suppose to be presented for the presentation.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?

-I thought that the fact that people actually do this is truly inspiring. I know this is a student project but i admire the fact that there are people out there who truly care about kids health.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?

- I think now i realize more that i should be grateful for my mother always telling me to eat healthy. I always complain and didn't eat her healthy meals because i thought they didn't taste as well as fast food, but through this project I realize how much I need to appreciate my mom for telling me to eat healthy.

5. What questions do you still have?

- I was wondering do cafeterias throughout the United States serve the food that they do due to cheap prices and our current economy.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
For me, the main challenge was getting started on the actual project because I always tend to procrastinate. Also, figuring out how to work Weebly was quite difficult because I did not have any experience in creating a website.

In this project I did the Education and Nutrition page and the power point. I think my contributions were important because they played a substantial role in the overall project. In the future I will develop my ideas more and learn how to use prezi better so i can make better power points.
2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
This project posed the project for me of figuring out how to defend fast food companies. For the entire semester we have been learning of how bad the fast food corporations and then we were given the task to help get this food into schools. So it was tough to look deeper, and find a way to defend fast food.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
There were many facts that really surprised me about fast food. For example, when going through many articles i found it surprising that fast food meat is actually checked more frequently then the school meat. That is one thing that i will probably always remember now about school food.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?

5. What questions do you still have?
My question is why people understand that eating fast food is unhealthy but they still keep eating it.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
This project taught me that the food that the students eat ate school is still not healthy. But it is still hard to change the fact of it, so the parents should try to give the children more healthy food to eat.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.

My role in this project is to research on the topic of this project, to organize and review the PowerPoint as well as its contents, and to write the script for the video. I made the outline for the PowerPoint and then divided the job for each member. I made sure each member complete her part by checking her work as well as being available when my group members need help. I have set a schedule of dates which I presented to the group and asked them to complete their jobs by the deadline. However, I did not take in account of each member’s situations. Sometimes, things came out of the blue and the schedule was messed up. I hope for the next project I would make a more flexible schedule for every member in group. I think a more flexible schedule would ensure my group be to more effective and better on the next project.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?

The challenge I encountered when doing this project is the website. Back in middle school, I have created my own website on Wikispaces.com. At that time, the website is fairly simple because it was about posting what I did in my classes and writing my own biography. This time’s website is a little more complex. In addition, I have been using APA format for most reference throughout three years of high school. Therefore, putting reference into MLA format is not so familiar. I have tried citationmachine.com and easybib.com. But, still, I have to fill out much additional information.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, and most unforgettable?

The thing I found most intriguing in this project is the school food program. School is the place where a student receives education and learns about decision making and choices. Yet, in contrast, school is also the place where a student eats unhealthy food. School teaches students to make good choices. But the school itself did not make a very good choice on choosing the right food for its students. The most unforgettable about this project is the project itself. It was my first time doing an advocacy project and a company website. It was a good experience.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?

My encounter with this project teaches me to eat healthy and not to be so “picky” of what I eat. Before, I did not like to eat vegetables and salads. However, after learning the benefits and effects of eating healthy, I started to eat healthy myself. By eating healthy, I know I am doing myself a good deed. In addition, I also learned that two person’s effort is better one person’s doing by his or herself.

5. What questions do you still have?

I want to know for the upcoming projects, will it be about social issues like this one or will it be about political or academic issues such as student connection in school, health care, etc…

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?

Content: I learned to eat healthy for the good of myself as well as to promote others around me to do the same. I learned that people do have power and responsibility in their choices of lifestyle. This project also taught me many interesting things about fast food and school lunch food. I also learned of the nutritional value of those foods and the benefits and role food play in our everyday life.

Process: From this project, I got to make more friends and built stronger friendship bonds. I also learned of prezi and of making a professional website. I also learned about MLA format which could be very useful in later college study. I also know that I should work on my grammar and vocabulary.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.

My role in the project was our prezi presentation. Also I had to speak in front of the class about my prezi and how to give key points about my slide. I researched healthier alternatives that we, the school could use. Also I researched methods that could reduce calories, sodium , and sugar in the school lunches.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?

One of the many challenges that this project posed to me is the ability to work with my group members. Also since i decided to the prezi presentation i had to speak in front of the class, giving eye contact, project a loud voice, and to show how well i know my prezi was a difficult task for me, a shy boy.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?

What I found most unforgettable was the time I spend working with my group members. There was the tough and good times but overall we had fun creating this project.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?

After this project I have changed my way of eating. From now on I have checked the box for the levels of sugar, calories, and sodium. I also have increased my awareness by eating more fruits and vegetables instead of meat.

5. What questions do you still have?

I still wonder why does food cost as much as it is now. I keep thinking that a sandwich should cost more than it is worth or maybe even priceless because it is a live not a product.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?

This project has taught me the value of eating healthy and staying healthy. Humans generally eat the tastiest products out in the world but we can create an illusion where the fruits and vegetables are added in to create a new flavor. The human nature should change its way since we are the fattest nation.

I agree that working with the group was unforgettable. I, too, had fun working on this project, and learned that staying healthy by eating healthy is important. We cannot give up on this war against obesity. I agree with you that the human nature in America should change to a healthier and more humane one.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.
My main role was to work on the prezi presentation and get it finished, but I also contributed to the group by getting the technical stuff on the website to work, such as the links. I also provided ideas for the website and the paragraphs.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
The main challenge was to organize a meeting where all members could meet at the same date and time. Luckily, we had already started on our project in class, therefore our meetings were very straightforward in finishing what we had started.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
This project has provided a lot to me. I found it very helpful that we were given class time to work on the project. It was very fun and I enjoyed working on it and researching information I had never knew before.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
This topic made me realize that there are changes to school lunch programs, and I am happy to hear that, but it is not enough. I feel that I should somehow participate in this fight against fast food.

5. What questions do you still have?
Why haven't our school/school district take steps on changing our unhealthy school lunches?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
I learned that human nature is cruel. Companies are serving students cheap and unhealthy food just so that they can earn big profits. This is unfair to the students, especially children, who do not know what is happening to them at an early age. I should not eat this food anymore, but to bring my own healthy food from home.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.
My role in the project was to research healthy food alternatives and to post them onto the website.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
A challenge this project pose for me was understanding the instructions of the project. Our group didn't understand in the beginning that the web page was supposed to be for the entire think tank and not just the project we were "hired" to do. After we realized this though, we made the changes. There were not many challenges otherwise.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
I thought that our member, Benny, staying up all night to finish the video was most moving. I liked our theme for the project, which was a cadet theme to match our think tank name. I thought it was unforgettable how so many groups were not prepared. I liked our group's work very much, even if others did not.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
This project makes me feel very guilty for eating food that makes me happy.

5. What questions do you still have?
What topic will we be doing next time? Will we still be exploring ethics, but with a different venue?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
This project taught me that humans are very addicted to unhealthy food. It's part psychology, part biology. Being in a business academy class makes you wonder, after learning this information, if you really want to be in business. The efforts of marketing teams that make such persuasive advertising campaigns are things that the students in this very class may be doing in the future. Of course business is very diverse, but marketing is a huge category. In terms of processes, I learned how to make a new website. I learned how to design, publish, and create my own website, and I can use this in the future. I also learned that some people, instead of creating resumes and cover letters, use websites like weebly and give the link to their employers. This way, prospective employees do not need to print and hand in resumes to many employers. I don't like this idea very much, and I don't think it's a good idea, but that is still something new I learned.

1. What was your role in the project?
I created and worked on the Prezi presentation. I also helped with creating the website and the video script.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
It was a little difficult to include the research in the video script and organize a good time to film the video.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
I found the times when we worked on the website together in the computer lab the most unforgettable.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
This encounter made me realize that no ALL fast food is completely bad. It has it's high points and low points, but the most important thing is that I should choose what is healthiest, not what is most delicious. If I had to choose between McDonalds or plain salad, I would choose plain salad, which has the least fats, sugars, and or salts.

5. What questions do you still have?
What makes school lunch so expensive and why is it so disgusting. Some healthy foods are not as bad as school lunch, so why don't schools offer those foods?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
Human nature tends to choose things that are high in sugars and fats. That is why fast food is in such high commodity and can't be banned. This made me realize that I am just like every other human being and not curbing my urges. Furthermore, it is probably human nature to also procrastinate, as I found myself doing several times.

During the project, I worked on the website by editing the theme, fixing grammatical errors, and editing everyone's biographies.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?

Creating a website was the most challenging thing for me to do, since I've never created a website before. Figuring out how to make one was difficult.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?

I won't forget the time my group spent together working on the website and how fun it was.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?

This helped me decide to eat healthier and lose some weight.

5. What questions do you still have?

I don't have any questions.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?

I learned that many schools serve unhealthy food for the kids and this affects their future and how they work in school.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.

My role in the project was the production of the website, along with the powerpoint and the audio for the video, along with many other roles in editing the site itself. I was part of the research team which discovered ways for the schools to have healthier alternatives to their lunches rather than the horrible school lunches that are currently being offered.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?

One of the greatest challenges that this project posed for me was the lack of cooperation with the other members, at times it felt like only about 2 members actually ever did anything, sometimes this indeed proved to be a hindrance to the overall product although this is a learning process and I do believe that this can be altered by the time that the next project comes around.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?

I found the times spent together with my colleagues to be one of the most unforgettable moments in the project, especially the good times that we had.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?

I was changed as a person because I saw the effort required in making something happen. Most projects are pretty cut and dry however this project made me think differently about how one would go about convincing someone to actually go and change the lunch programs for a school or a district.

5. What questions do you still have?

I have no real questions, maybe some simple things like when will our next project be and how will it pertain to us working together as a group to accomplish this think-tank

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?

This project taught me that people prefer a cheaper alternative to food even though it may not be the healthiest thing, we could fix this by subsidizing more farm-fresh fruits and vegetables but humans seek their own advancement and due to this, businesses take over rather than the advancement of our youth.

A: My role in the project was to write the script for the video, film it, and the put together and edit it. I think what I did contributed to the group because the script was pretty informative and the video wasn't completely terrible.
2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
A: This project posed the challenge of learning to use the editing software on my computer.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
A: I found the process of making the website the more intriguing and unforgettable because this is the first time I've constructed one and I never thought it would be that easy.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
A: I was changed as a person as a result of my encounter with this topic because it made me more cautious of what I eat. It made me eat school lunch more seldomly.

5. What questions do you still have?
A: I think all my questions have been answered about the topic but sometimes I wonder why nothing has been done about school lunches since they really are extremely unhealthy.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
A: This project taught me that I could learn new things and get things done if i really put my mind to it. It also informed me of how horrible school lunches are and how many healthy alternatives there are out there.

I was in charge of producing the infomercial which includes recording the the voices and aligning it with respect to the visuals. I also wrote my own biography. If I had a chance to do this differently a second time, I would redo the filming of the 2nd segment in the infomercial which was done on a shaky camera. I would also increase the visibility and added more information to the facts portion.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
For me personally, the challenge was learning how to use Sony Vegas in 1 hour and a way to record audio from my group member over a call.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
I found it very intriguing that In-n-out share the same beef supplier as our school

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
This project changed my view on fast food. I don't think fast food is necessarily good for you but there is some plus side to having fast food at times. Fast food can be a healthier alternative to school lunch.

5. What questions do you still have?
Most of my questions have been answered in our research but there is one that I have not found the answer to. Why is there no nutritional information posted anywhere in the cafeteria?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
Yes, this taught me the importance of communication and compromise. A group of 6 can contribute equally to a project and be satisfied with every part of the project.

I was responsible for a small portion of each aspect of this project. For the website, I was responsible for writing a portion of the mission statement and my own biography. I also edited the page to improve its eloquence and proofread for grammar mistakes. For the presentation, I created the Prezi and contributed ideas, while my group members filled in the necessary information to make the Prezi. For the video, I wrote part of the script and acted in parts of it.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
Meeting up was a challenge for us because everybody's schedule was full. It was difficult to find a time to meet up to film and get everything together.Other than that, everything was simple to accomplish.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
Through research, we discovered that In-N-Out Burgers and schools share the same beef supplier. In addition to that intriguing fact, the most unforgettable fact was that the USDA's regulation on school meat is less stringent in comparison to fast food corporations' regulations and tests.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I have decided to make smarter choices when deciding on what to eat. Rather than choosing school lunch, I can pack my own lunch from home to ensure my meal is healthy.

5. What questions do you still have?
I still question the motive behind unhealthy school lunches. Rather than serve students greasy lunches, schools can spend their money on new lunch plans that are nutritious.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
This project taught me that people are easily swayed by their surrounding environment. Schools can easily compromise the health of innocent children for money. I learned that I am easily persuaded. However, my morals are strong. I still believe fast food corporations are improper in their conduct of providing food for consumers.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.
My role in the project was to basically contribute in the creation of the group’s website. I created the pages and organized the drop down pages. I cleaned up the website before presentation and reviewed everything. I feel that I had contributed much, but this was really a group effort.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
Challenges would be organization and how we wanted everything to come together. When I was organizing the website, it had been a little frustrating, but everything worked out in the end. Another challenge would be meeting up with the other group members, we all had conflicting schedules but we did work it out in the end.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
The thing I found most moving was how everything came together, our group did work hard and it paid off. The thing I found most intriguing was the project itself, how we were hired by a fast food company, I found it the most unusual out of the three possible topics. The thing I found most unforgettable was how the group came together and had fun during the project. I am excited to work with the group more.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
As a person, I found myself researching a lot more on what we are consuming. From the nutritional value to reviews, I became much more curious about what is really in our food. This topic really made me research the material necessary for the project and got me more curious on the topic.

5. What questions do you still have?
A question I still have is why subways was taken out of schools before and how it was put into schools in the first place.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
This project taught me that it is in our human nature to assume. Some fast food companies, for example, Subways, actually put some sort of effort into making certain products that are meant to be a healthier alternative. Even though it is fast food, there are much healthier alternatives if you are going to eat it. We assume all fast food companies are bad, but some are just a little better than others. After everything, I learned that I am willing to research and look into topics. This project made me reflect on how quickly I assume that all fast food is bad, but some companies do try to create healthier food.

3. That even though we didn't work on it at all during the time we still pulled it together and had our project done on the due date. It was a good project that I'm proud of.

4. I feel like I wasn't really changed, besides being more aware of these fast food industries and how people are unaware of the harmful effects of fast foods.

5. Why are people still choosing to eat at places like these when they know the harful effects?

My contributions to this project was getting the group started in discussing what needed to be done. I made the initial outline for the website, adding the subsections Nutrition and Benefits to the Budget to the project. I contributed to writing and researching for Benefits to the Budget.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
One of the biggest challenges this project posed for me was deciphering the stunning amount of information available on the internet.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
The most moving and unforgettable part of this project is how we managed to finish it rather efficiently within a short amount of time.
Our time spent contemplating helped us because it gave us room to breathe and a clear direction of what to do so that effort was not wasted.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I became more conscious of the food I eat and the restaurants that I eat at. I also realized that most corporations out there are driven more by their profits than by the interests of their customers.

5. What questions do you still have?
Will the AUSD ever invite a food company or restaurant to cater to our school district?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
This project helped give light on the duality of man. One side of human nature is caring, nurturing, and empathetic to the needs of others, and the other side is inclined to selfish interests. This is exemplified in the fast food industry, where companies and corporations try to show a compassionate side by promoting healthy options, but are still ultimately driven by the desire to keep profits up.

My role in this project was to help design the webpage, gather information on the think tank, and to star in the commercial video. I feel like I completed all my tasks well and on time, as the project was able to be completed to a point where the entire group was satisfied with it.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
None whatsoever, the group worked well together, we got our work done, and we turned in a final project we were all very proud of.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
What i found the most moving was the fact that so many in poverty cannot even afford to eat healthy. What I found most intriguing was that the food industry cared more about turning a profit than the actual welfare of the people. And what I found most unforgettable was the ability my group had to work well together and the fun we had working on this project.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I was changed to be more thorough in my work. Usually, I am accustomed to turning in the minimum work that would get me the A, but on this project, I continued to work past that minimum point until the group as a while were satisfied with the final project.

5. What questions do you still have?
I don't have any questions.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?

It was a bit difficult to mesh information from different sites, but I managed to do it. And making videos are hard. It's a challenge to look presentable and not giggle and forget your lines while looking to the camera.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
I found it really interesting how there’s so many ways we can eat healthier. As we researched for this project, Cynthia and I encountered so many websites discussing how to make healthier foods with the ingredients right off the grocery store. It was surprising how delicious the pictures actually looked and how I wanted to try making them.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
I was changed by this topic to re-think what I want to put in my mouth. It made me ask if I should bother eating such thing when I can replace it with something sweet just like what I may be craving for, but in a healthier option, like a fruit.

5. What questions do you still have?
Who really takes the time to do the suggested ways to make healthier foods. It boggles my mind how one would have time to bother altering the food when it’s so much easier buying from fast food stores.

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
This project taught me that it’s human nature to want something fast and something easy. Our nation is IMMENSELY impatient nowadays. We always want things on the go. I learned that since watching the video clip from Supersize Me, I will always rethink now if I want to buy the fries or not.

1. What was your role in the project? List (HONESTLY) the tasks you accomplished and then briefly describe how what you did contributed to your group. If you failed to do your part, then be honest about that. Explain why and then discuss what you will do differently.
My role in this project was to gather information for our video.I researched information on some school lunch alternatives and wrote the script.

2. What challenges did this project pose for you?
Some challenges were researching the information some websites didn't provide alternatives. Also our time management wasn't the greatest we could of did things earlier.

3. What did you find most moving, most intriguing, most unforgettable?
What I found moving was the fact that schools seem not to care what food is being served. The children are not educated and are unaware of what exactly they are eating. Most unforgettable was the fact that our group was able to complete the project.

4. How were you changed as a person as a result of your encounter with this topic?
yes i have because I was able to learn what children in elementary, middle, and high schools have to deal with.

5. What questions do you still have?
Will we do any other projects like this one ?

6. What did this project (both the content and the process) teach you about human nature, about yourself?
It taught me that human nature is different and always changing. We do certain things because we have too and with projects we don't only earn a grade but we learn a little something about everyday life.
